Living wills are more important than ever. Medical technology has advanced at a staggering pace over recent decades. These advances have made it possible for doctors to keep people alive in truly amazing ways. However, this has had a serious impact on our society. Just because it is possible to keep someone alive, does that mean you should? If someone has a high chance of a full recovery, most people agree that they should be kept on life support. Some people, though, make it known that they do not want ANY life support used on them.

What people can't agree on, however, is where the line gets drawn. This is an extremely personal and complex issue. I've compiled a few resources and differing opinions on this issue. If you have any suggestions for other resources, send them to sharp452002 (at) yahoo.com.

Resources:

US Living Will Registry - An excellent place to get information, including state-specific legal issues.

Terrisfight.org - Organization founded on behalf of Terry Schiavo, which believes that all measures should be taken to keep severely brain damaged individuals alive.
